Crypto News Like Desk : The Central American country of El Salvador will spend $4 million surplus from operating the virtual currency Bitcoin to build an animal hospital. The country's president, Naib Bukele, said this on Saturday.
El Salvador has become the first country in the world to recognize Bitcoin as legal currency, Reuters reports.
Last August, El Salvador set up a Bitcoin Trust with $1.5 billion in reserves to facilitate instant exchanges between US dollars and Bitcoin. According to Buckel, that trust now has an additional $4 million.
"We have decided to invest part of that money in this, an animal hospital for our furry friends," El Salvador's president, Naib Buquele, wrote on Twitter.
The hospital will be used as a rehabilitation center along with basic and emergency care.
